Dr. Mirza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, and Clinical Director, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Connecticut (UConn) School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Rush-Westlake Hospital Residency Program. She subsequently worked as a primary care physician in health care shortage area for a few years, followed by a clinical research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and fellowships in Endocrinology and Metabolism and Women’s Health at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She also serves as Director, Osteoporosis Clinic and key clinical faculty for the Fellowship training program in Endocrinology and Metabolism at UConn Health, and as Clerkship Director for Ambulatory Medicine Clerkship at the UConn School of Medicine. Her clinical area of focus is treatment of patients with osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases, with a special interest in the treatment of men and women with underlying secondary causes of osteoporosis including hormonal therapies that impact bone health.
