Dr. Betül Hatipoğlu is appointed Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, the Medical Director of the Diabetes and Obesity Center at University Hospitals. And the Mary B. Lee Chair in Adult Endocrinology. Previously, she served as the Diabetes Wellness Education Program director and medical director for the Islet and Pancreas Transplant Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago until 2008. She joined Cleveland Clinic in 2008. She served on the Board of Governors from 2018-2020. During her time, Dr. Hatipoğlu played a leading role in building Cleveland Clinic's clinical and research program for islet autotransplantation in patients with chronic pancreatitis. She is a nationally and internationally recognized leader and teacher in her field, working closely with the American Diabetes Association and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists in educating endocrinologists and other health care providers around the world on diabetes. She has received several teaching awards throughout her career across multiple institutions.
